Lars Gubitosi ’23 was awarded the United States Congress’ highest award given to a young person. The Congressional Award Gold Medal recognizes initiative, service, and achievement in multiple areas with a focus on public service.
Throughout the pandemic, Lars donated his time to help combat the rising food insecurity experienced by Massachusetts families. He spent hundreds of hours in the warehouse at the Greater Boston Food Bank and at other organizations sorting and packing food to be distributed to those suffering from food insecurity. For his service prior to the pandemic, Lars was recognized for his contributions as a mentor with the Special Needs Athletic Partnership helping students enjoy athletic and recreational activities.
The Gold Medal ceremony will be held this summer. Congratulations, Lars, on earning this honor in recognition of your outstanding commitment to service!
