Arrows Volunteer in "Spirit of Sharing" Gift Drive

Over Christmas break, a group of Arrows travelled up to Saint Patrick Parish in Lawrence to volunteer in the “Spirit of Sharing” gift drive. Over the course of Advent, the 7th grade and Sophomore class contributed a number of gifts ranging from warm jackets and socks to LEGO sets and footballs. Gifts from this program have benefitted the families in greatest need in the Lawrence area since the turn of the millennium. Marlene O’Brien, the Chair of the program, describes “Spirit of Sharing” in these words: “This year’s program benefited 342 infants through tweens at risk for hunger. Rev. Paul O’Brien, Pastor of St. Patrick's, had personally selected their families as those with the greatest need of support. Although many of these parents, often first-generation, work two to three jobs, they cannot afford to meet rent, utility, grocery and school-related expenses and also provide their sons and daughters a Christmas gift.”

Thank you to all Arrows who volunteered their time to help participate!
