SafeArrival 

An online portal for parents to PRE-REPORT student absences, late arrivals, and early dismissals

SafeArrival replaces having to submit handwritten notes or contact the front office after an absence occurs. It is a one-stop method for you to report multiple day absences for your son(s).  

Types of absences that can be reported through SafeArrival:

  • Full Day – Student will be absent for the entire day.
  • Late – Student will be arriving late to school.
  • Early Departure – Student will be leaving school before the end of the day.
  • Leave & Return – Student will be leaving and returning during the same school day.
  • Multiple Day (up to 5 days) – Student will be absent for more than one day (maximum of 5 consecutive days).

Note: A reason must be included for each reported absence.

With SafeArrival, you are asked to report your son’s absence, late arrival, or early dismissal in advance using any of the following 3 methods:

SM HOME MOBILE APP

Using your mobile device, download and install the SchoolMessenger app called SM Home (with the multi-color icon) from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. The first time you use the app, select Sign Up to create your account. Once logged in, select Attendance then Report an Absence. You must use the same email as listed in the school portal, which is linked to your son(s). Please note there is another School Messenger app with a powder blue icon that could be used but we feel the SM Home app with the multi-color icon is more user friendly.

SafeArrival WEBSITE

The first time you use the website, go.schoolmessenger.com, select Sign Up in the upper right corner of the webpage to create your account. After you have logged in, select Attendance then Report an Absence. You must use the same email as listed in the school portal, which is linked to your son(s).

TELEPHONE

Use your cell phone to call the SafeArrival toll-free automated phone system, 844-207-2372. If you call from a phone other than your cell, you will be prompted to enter your mobile number that is associated with the school. 

The system will send any parent/guardian authorized to use the system a confirmation notice of any reported absence. If you receive notification of a PRE-REPORTED absence that you did NOT make, please contact the front office at (781) 449-5200.
