Sports are not required but are encouraged for all students.
Please note: All Fall athletes are required to be signed off prior to stepping onto the field. Please ensure updated forms within Magnus are complete prior to the start of the season. On September 2, Director of Health Services Jen Joyce will have a check-in table to review each varsity fall athlete's paperwork.
Grades 7 & 8
Students in Grades 7–8 will have no athletic commitments before the start of classes. Fall sports sign-ups will take place after the first day of school, and practices will begin once the school year is underway.

Grades 9-12
The information below applies to students entering Grades 9–12 who are interested in playing a Varsity, JV, or Freshmen Team fall sport.
Soccer

Varsity tryouts begin: Wednesday, September 2. There will be two tryout sessions. The first session will run from 8:00-10:00 am, while the second session will run from 1:00-3:00 pm.
Varsity tryouts are open to any student entering Grades 9-12. Freshmen or Sophomores who do not want to try out for Varsity, can wait until after Labor Day to join their respective Freshmen or JV Soccer team.

There may be an optional, pre-season camp (rising 9th graders – rising 12th graders). If you are interested, please contact Coach Redpath.
Cross Country

Preseason begins: Wednesday, September 2 from 9:00-11:00 am for any student in Grades 10-12. 9th Graders with experience in Cross Country, are welcome to attend practice.

Football

Preseason begins: Wednesday, September 2
That morning, there will be a strength and conditioning assessment for all in Grades 10-12 and any 9th graders interested in participating. There will not be an afternoon session on Wednesday. Tryouts are for anyone looking to play football at any level and are a great way to get back into shape after the summer. Practices will run the following three days 9/3-9/5 with double sessions at 8:30-11:00 am and 3:00-5:30 pm.
This is NOT required for freshmen. Freshman football will officially start on Wednesday, September 9th.
