Provide a wide range of athletic programs to the students with an emphasis on promoting fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and dedication. St. Sebastian’s is committed to providing an opportunity for every student to be a member of an athletic team. Our long range goal is for students to become “Athletes for Life.”


In keeping with St. Sebastian’s mission of educating young men in body, mind, and spirit, athletics represents a vital element of the student experience at the School.


I. Upgrade existing facilities to enhance the athletic experience for the students and expand the infrastructure of on-campus facilities.
 a. Add a second full-size basketball court
b. Add a wrestling room
c. Add squash courts
d. Upgrade athletic department offices and storage facilities
II. Through the expansion and upgrade of facilities, we hope to broaden participation and provide increased playing time for the students.
III. Emphasize the development of student-athletes beginning in the seventh and eighth grades.
 a. Ongoing dialogue among coaches within a sport to ensure the development of each student is actively monitored. Empower Varsity coaches to function as department heads.
IV. Inititiate a strength and conditioning program that would include students who choose not to participate in interscholastic athletics.
V. Strengthen communication with coaches, students, and parents.
VI. Expand faculty evaluation to include coaching duties.
