Philosophy

St. Sebastian's cross country is focused on the individual development of each runner in a team environment. Each runner is taught to recognize the physical and mental challenges of competitive long-distance running, and to build the strength and confidence needed to surmount the rigors of this demanding sport. Just as each St. Sebastian’s student is encouraged in the classroom to become a lifelong learner, the St. Sebastian's cross country program encourages our runners to be lifelong athletes.

Program Details

The program includes a varsity and junior varsity team comprised of runners from grades 9-12, and a third team covering grades 7-9. A St. Sebastian's runner is exposed to the many facets required to be a great athlete. This program focuses on the advancement of each runner's physiological knowledge, mental discipline, physical strength, flexibility, speed, and endurance.
