On February 9, the St. Sebastian's varsity wrestling team traveled to Tabor for the ISL Tournament. They wrestled tough and ended with five Arrows placing in the top five. Sophomores Scotty Behman and Nick Vallace placed third, followed by freshman Ben Frisoli at fourth, and seniors Matty Behman and Anthony Perez at fifth. The team jumped five spots in overall team points from last year, finishing at 8th – one of the best years the team has seen thus far. Behman, Vallace, and Frisoli all qualified for the New England Independent School Wrestling Association tournament at Greens Farm Academy in Westport, CT, for taking top four. On February 16, they all advanced to the second day at New England's where the top twelve wrestlers of each class would battle to take top six and advance to the National Tournament. This included an impressive win for Vallace over the four seed and ISL champion of his weight class. All the wrestlers fought hard and had some great upsets, one of the more notable ones was Behman beating the five seed to take him to the match for Nationals. All wrestlers lost their match for 6th place and Nationals, with Behman and Frisoli finishing 7th and Vallace finishing 8th. The team finished 25th out of 46 schools.
Congratulations on a great season, Arrows!
