Arrows Win the Mutch Cup

Arrows Win the Mutch Cup
The St. Sebastian's varsity hockey team defeated the Catholic Memorial Knights 6-2 in the 25th Annual Kevin Mutch '80 Memorial Hockey Game at the Boston Bruins' Warrior Arena on Wednesday, December 19.

The annual match honors Kevin T. Mutch '80, a star hockey player for both St. Sebastian's and Boston University, who coached at St. Sebastian's during the 1991-92 season before he was tragically struck and killed by an automobile on September 7, 1992. All proceeds from the game are going to support the Jimmy Fund.

Several hundred members of the St. Sebastian's Community gathered before the game to enjoy a reception. The puck dropped at 7pm and the Arrows jumped out to an early 2-0 lead. The Knights battled back and tied the game up during the second period. The Arrows responded with three unanswered goals before an empty net score with 50 seconds remaining cemented the victory. The team was awarded the Mutch Cup and gathered together on the ice for a celebratory photograph. Congratulations!

The Arrows play their next game against Williston on December 28 at 11:00am.
