Athletic Facilities
Burke Family Center
St. Sebastian’s newest facility, the Burke Family Center, opened its doors in November 2018. The state-of-the-art center includes two competition-size basketball courts, six squash courts, a wrestling room, a training room and fitness room, a video classroom for team meetings and breaking down game film and ample locker room space for our students, visiting teams, and officials.
Wrestling Room
St. Sebastian’s wrestling room features two full mats, state-of-the-art lighting and stadium seating for spectators. The space also includes pull up bars and ropes for workouts during practices.
Squash Courts
Six international-sized squash courts, located on the ground floor of the Burke Family Center, provide a wonderful space for squash practices and matches. The raised platform in the middle serves as an ideal viewing spot for fans to watch the teams compete.
Varsity Basketball Court
St. Sebastian’s newest basketball court, located on the ground floor of the Burke Family Center, is a full-size competition court for the varsity basketball team. The 2nd floor viewing area, along with new lighting, gives the court a stadium-like feel.
Flynn Family Gymnasium
St. Sebastian’s second full-size competition basketball court, named for Bob Flynn ’46 and his family in 2009, offers ample space for practice and games for our non-varsity teams.
Video Classroom
Outfitted with cutting-edge technology, including flat screen TV’s and a projection screen, and fixed theater-style seating for 96, this beautiful room is used by a variety of groups across campus, including our athletic teams for meetings, lectures, breaking down game film and chalkboard sessions.
Training Room
Located in the middle of the Burke Family Center, the Training Room is easily accessible from both sides of the facility, as well as from the outside and via the Fitness & Weight Room next door.
Fitness & Weight Room
The Fitness & Weight Room, staffed by our experienced athletic trainers and conditioning coach, serves the entire St. Sebastian’s community. The room is outfitted with a variety of cardio equipment for aerobic conditioning and machines and weights for strength training.
Henry T. Lane Rink
St. Sebastian’s hockey rink, named in honor of Henry Lane ’49, former long-time hockey coach and athletic director, offers our teams one of the finest hockey facilities in the ISL.
The Seidl Family Baseball Field (synthetic turf)
The varsity baseball field was dedicated in May 2019. The state-of-the-art field was installed in 2007, becoming the first turf baseball diamond in the ISL.
Soccer Field (synthetic turf)
This full-size artificial turf soccer field serves as the game and practice field for the Arrows varsity soccer team.
Football/Lacrosse Field (synthetic turf)
The field was redesigned in 2007 with artificial turf, and is home to our football teams in the fall and our lacrosse teams in the spring.
Lower Turf Field (synthetic turf)
New artificial turf fields for soccer and baseball were installed in Summer 2019 behind the Burke Family Center, providing additional opportunities for our Arrows athletes to practice and play.
Additional Football/Lacrosse Field
A grass football/lacrosse field at the corner of Greendale Avenue and Great Plain Avenue provides additional practice and game space for our lower school football and lacrosse teams.
Tennis Courts
St. Sebastian’s has six outdoor tennis courts that were resurfaced in 2018, located to the left of the Burke Family Center and down the slope by the Charles River.
