This past weekend, on April 1 and 2, workshop performances of Stuck! - an original musical created by Ben Goffredo '24 - were held in St. Sebastian's West Campus theater.
Ben wrote the script, lyrics and music, as well as directed the workshop musical, which is about overcoming. The storyline follows five people (Karissa, Corey, Rebecca, Jerry, and Tommy), all "stuck" in different ways in their lives. On one fateful day during which the show takes place, all five are at the Museum of Art in Haywood. They all enter an elevator and hijinks, comedy and drama ensue.
Derron St. Marie ’24 (Jerry) and Andrew MacDougall ’27 (Corey) gave memorable and moving performances, bringing the musical to life on the West Campus stage for the first time. The cast also included female students from Ursuline Academy, Avon Middle High School, Massasoit Community College and Berklee College of Music. The crew consisted of Gianluca Centola ’24, Ben Corbett ’25 and Joshua Corbett ’23. Members of the St. Sebastian’s community and friends and family of the cast and crew attended the performances.
Special thanks to Mr. Karl Grohmann, Mr. Brendan Sullivan, Mr. Mark Rogers, Mr. Edward Donovan, Mr. Paul Rossini and Mr. Eric Ludwig for their help in making the workshops a success.
Ben is actively incorporating audience feedback and working on a revised draft with the goal of presenting a full production of Stuck! in the near future.
