Music

The music program at St. Sebastian’s provides many opportunities for our students to expand and showcase their musical talents.
Music is available to students both through academic coursework and through participation in vocal and instrumental ensembles. These groups offer a variety of performance opportunities throughout the year—from concerts and school dances to liturgical celebrations. Rehearsals take place after school and are structured to ensure that any interested student can take part. In fact, many students participate in multiple ensembles, deepening their musical experience across genres and settings.
Music Ensembles
Over the years, St. Sebastian’s has featured a variety of music groups, from a cappella groups to jazz bands. Below are examples of our current offerings.

Jazz Pop Ensemble
St. Sebastian’s premier instrumental and vocal soloist group, the Jazz Pop Ensemble performs throughout the year, showcasing a wide range of musical styles. They bring festive cheer to the Christmas Program with holiday classics and spend the winter rehearsing big band arrangements in preparation for the semi-formal, where they transform into a lively dance band. The year concludes with the Spring Revue—a final performance highlighting the ensemble’s talent and versatility.

Chamber Ensemble
Chamber Ensemble, our school's classical group, performs challenging pieces ranging from standard classical repertoire to more contemporary pieces. This group features strings, piano, woodwinds and brass, but can also include other instruments for interested musicians. There are many performance opportunities throughout the year including school events both on and off campus.

Schola & Mass Ensemble
This student-led liturgical music group plays a key role in monthly all-school Masses and other religious celebrations. Open to both vocalists and instrumentalists, the ensemble rehearses weekly and performs a blend of traditional and contemporary sacred music. Students and adults in the St. Sebastian’s community collaborate in this ministry, joining their talents in service of the greater glory of God.

Moments to Shine
Beyond ensembles, students have many opportunities to grow and perform, whether it’s singing the national anthem at sporting events or showcasing their musical talents in student-led acts at the Mr. Seb’s Talent Show.
