• Students are assigned their college counselor in December.
• Schedule a family appointment with your student's college counselor.
• Parents and guardians are important partners in this process and our office welcomes family appointments.

• Speak with your student about his goals regarding college.
• Provide unconditional support.
• Establish a manageable schedule for regular communication (a weekly check-in), so everyone knows what to expect.
• Utilize tools provided by St. Sebastian’s to assist in this process.

• Support your student in taking the SAT/ACT during their junior year.
• Take advantage of Sexton Test Prep classes offered at St. Sebastian’s in January/February.

• Summer activities can help your student expand current interests or explore new ones.
• Many programs have registration dates early in the year.
• Work, family obligations, volunteering, travel, and athletics are also productive ways to spend the summer.

Visit colleges during weekends and school breaks as needed.

• Discuss paying for college and financial aid with your student.
• Fill out Net Price Calculator if needed at colleges of interest.
• Pingry provides free College Money Method workshops on all aspects of the financial aid process.
• Additional one-on-one consulting available if needed.
