Academic Support

Always challenged. Always supported.

At St. Sebastian’s, boys excel in exceptionally challenging courses because they are supported at every turn.

This balance of rigor and support is at the heart of our academic approach—across the entire curriculum, in every classroom, for all students.  Each boy takes the courses each year that are most appropriate, most demanding, and most tailored to his interests and previous course work. Just as each boy’s course selections are individualized, so too are the supports he may choose to access.

Collaboration & Peer Support

At St. Sebastian’s, students celebrate scholarship—it's cool to be smart and to get good grades. It is also part of student ethos to work together, to support each other, and to joy in each other’s accomplishments.

This is not a school in which boys try to outperform each other or compete against each other. Boys collaborate on everything from major projects to nightly homework. While there is also a significant amount of work that is completed independently, no boy feels that he is working alone.
