AP Photography Students Visit Ansel Adams Exhibt at the MFA

On Monday, January 28, students taking AP Photography traveled to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston to view "Ansel Adams in Our Time." The exhibit showcases some of Adams' excellent work such as The Tetons and Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, and Clearing Winter Storm, Yosemite National Park. Ansel Adams is not only known for his iconic black and white images of the U.S. National Parks, but for being an incredible technician in the darkroom creating many of the techniques still used today. He is also known for writing many of the definitive books on how to create incredible black and white photographs in the darkroom. The AP Photography students this year are the first to use the new darkroom in the Art Building and will have a chance to use many of the same techniques pioneered by Ansel Adams many years ago.
