Volunteers Celebrated During Cookout

Parents, Alumni and Parents of Alumni gathered on the Class of 2007 Terrace at the Griffith Headmaster's House on Tuesday, May 30 for the Volunteer Appreciation Cookout. Headmaster Burke thanked the volunteers for always asking the question, “how can I help?” “Your generous attitude and willingness to serve has benefited the School in countless ways.”

Guild of St. Irene President Kristen Maxwell P’25 and Auction Co-chairs, Julie Mulvey P'17,'21,'26 and Kelly Stenberg P ‘25, presented Headmaster Burke with a check for $593,530, the net proceeds from the Christmas Auction. A good portion of these proceeds will go toward the “Teach and be Taught” endowed fund which supports faculty and staff professional development. Also announced, the Headmaster’s Golf Tournament, held on May 15, raised over $250,000 for the purpose of supporting financial aid for deserving students. The Tournament was led by Men’s Association President, Richard Walsh P’22,24, Mike Frisoli P’17’19’21’22’26, Richard Sutphin P’26, and Anton Melchionda P’27.

We know it is a busy time of year and not all of our volunteers could be with us, but we thank each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts!
