The program started with "O Come, All Ye Faithful" and then Fr. John Arens provided the Prayer for the Lighting of the Advent Wreath. Students provided readings of scripture and the St. Sebastian's Schola, Mass Ensemble and Faculty Chorale provided music, including "Joy To The World," "Do You Hear What I Hear," and a wonderful performance of "I Wonder As I Wander" sung by Mr. Meyer Chambers with Colin Lapus '21 on piano.
The second half of the program featured contemporary Christmas music. The Chamber Ensemble performed "The Christmas Song," and "Secret Agent Sugar Plum." The Rock Band delivered a lively version of "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" with strong vocals by Derron St. Marie '24. The Jazz Band performed "Christmas Wrapping," "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home," and "Christmas Eve / Sarajevo 12/24." Special guest singer Alexa Serowik, sister of Jeff Serowik '20, sang her rendition of "Little Drummer Boy." The students and faculty joined in singing "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing," always a crowd favorite.
Thank you to the students and faculty members who shared their musical gifts with our Community, including: Mr. Karl Grohmann, director of the Chamber Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and co-director of the Rock Band, Mr. Meyer Chambers, director of the Schola, Mass Ensemble and Faculty Chorale and Mr. Manuel Pettine, co-director of the Rock Band.
