Senior Class-Alumni Breakfast Celebrated Over Zoom

Senior Class-Alumni Breakfast Celebrated Over Zoom

St. Sebastian’s continued the tradition of the Senior Class-Alumni Breakfast on Thursday, May 28. As usual, alumni members of the Board of Trustees and the Alumni Board gathered with the seniors - only this time, it was not in Ward Hall but rather a Zoom call! Board President Jim Elcock ’77 welcomed the Class of 2020 to the alumni ranks and assured the seniors that St. Sebastian’s will always be with them wherever life takes them. Tim Doherty ’87 mentioned the recent passing of Henry T. Lane ’49 in his comments to the group. Mr. Lane was a mentor and a friend to Mr. Doherty for over 35 years and he encouraged the young men to remember the great mentors they have had at St. Sebastian’s. Recent alumnus Peter Blake ’19 gave his fellow Arrows confidence that they have what it takes to perform on the college stage. He also empathized with the spring athletes as he too missed the majority of his lacrosse season at UPenn. Headmaster Burke concluded by congratulating the seniors on overcoming the adversity that they have faced in their senior year. While much has been lost, it has been a reminder of the importance of what they have gained from their friendships, their teamwork, and their St. Sebastian’s education. Headmaster Burke looks forward to celebrating their graduation on July 30.
