San Miguel 5th Graders Spend Day at St. Sebastian's

San Miguel 5th Graders Spend Day at St. Sebastian's

By Declan Carroll '25

On Friday, March 7, 2025, fifteen 5th grade students from the San Miguel School in Providence, RI travelled to St. Sebastian’s to spend the day here on campus with some St. Sebastian’s seniors, sophomores and freshmen. They had lunch, played chess, and worked in the Innovation Lab where each San Miguel student used the laser cutters to create a San Miguel Logo that was personalized with his name.  The Innovation Lab gave them a taste of how exciting high school will be, and they enjoyed the competitive chess games. Lunch was also a highlight where they enjoyed pizza and fries with St. Sebastian’s students and were excited to use the soft serve ice cream machine.

Seniors Declan Carroll and William Wallace were the student leaders on this project and were joined by their classmates Kevin Bresnahan, Connor Carroll and Crosby Thurmond. Special thanks to Mrs. Marie Carroll P’25,‘28,'30, Mrs. Noel Stavaridis P'24,'25,'27, and Mrs. Katy Wallace P’25 for their generous support of this initiative, and to Mr. Matthew Burke for his creative activities in the Innovation Lab.

Sophomore participants included Duke Ciongoli, Nico Doglioli, Jimmy Harney, Noah Meyers, Danny Porter, Jack Stavaridis, and Alex Wasynczuk.

Freshman participants were Thomas Ashe, Decker Bannish, Connor Carroll, Brooks Carter, Rex Condron, Connor McDonald, and Brady Williams.

The visit gave the San Miguel and St. Sebastian’s students a wonderful opportunity to spend more time together and get to know each other even better after the recent visit to San Miguel in December for the San Miguel Christmas Initiative. We look forward to more visits with the San Miguel School and continuing to grow our strong relationship.
