Life Sciences Club Completes Harvard MEDscience Program

For the second year in a row, the Life Sciences club participated in the Harvard MEDscience program. During the past six weeks, twelve students traveled to Harvard Medical School to engage with life-like mannequins designed to simulate an array of symptoms that the boys were responsible for diagnosing and treating as if they were real doctors treating patients. With some returning students and some first-timers, the program was a new experience for everyone as this year's program focused on new content, namely the nervous system, the reproductive system, and trauma scenarios (appendicitis, overdoses, car crashes, etc.). The students learned clinical skills, including how to suture, how to use a neck/back brace, and how to backboard. This was an excellent opportunity for students to get hands-on experience in healthcare while developing critical thinking and teamwork skills.
