Latin Club Gets into Holiday Spirit at Brown's Latin Christmas Carol Celebration

On Monday, December 9, six Latin Club seniors traveled with faculty members Joseph Cressotti and Sean Albertson to Brown University's annual Latin Christmas Carol Celebration. The night began with a traditional stop at Harry's Burgers, Providence's best burgers, before attending the event at the First Baptist Church.

This year marked the 72nd anniversary of the Latin Christmas Carol Celebration. The event consisted of a welcoming address in Latin, followed by Latin readings and songs in the spirit of the Christmas season--with notable additions of Greek and Sanskrit included in the presentation. Four readings from Luke, John, Isaiah, and Vergil have always been part of Brown's celebration and are well-known to St. Sebastian's Latin students through their studies and participation in the Latin Mass.
