JV Golf Ends Season Strong

JV Golf Ends Season Strong

On Thursday, May 15, Henry DeBevoise ’27 became a back-to-back champion of the Morris Kittler Cup. The Kittler Cup is an intrasquad competition, the JV Golf Team's equivalent of the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup. Henry accrued points throughout the season and emerged triumphant in two final rounds of play. In addition to the trophy, Henry received a dozen Titleist golf balls and Mark Frost’s book, The Greatest Game Ever Played, a chronicle of Francis Ouimet’s triumph in the 1913 U.S. Open at The Country Club. Congratulations again, Henry!

On Tuesday, May 13, St. Sebastian's JV Golf team defeated Dexter to win The Cornish Cup. Named in honor of the Cornish family's impact at both Dexter and St. Sebastian's, The Cornish Cup is a 3-day competition styled after the Ryder Cup. The teams played to a 2-2 tie in fourball play on the first day. St. Sebastian's then took a 3.5-.5 advantage in alternate shot play on the second day. St. Sebastian's secured a 10-6 final score by winning 4.5-3.5 in the final day's individual matches. Congratulations Arrows!
