Grandparents and special friends were welcomed on campus to experience a day at St. Sebastian's School on Tuesday, April 29.
The day began with a mass held in the church before heading in to Ward Hall for lunch and a program. Our guests were welcomed by event Co-Chairs Marie Carroll P'25,'28,'30, Noel Stavaridis P'24,'25,'27 and Seton Spagnuolo P'25 and an opening prayer from Fr. Arens. After lunch, President of the Guild of St. Irene, Elizabeth Derenzo P'20,'22,'24,'27, said a few words and then turned the podium over to student speaker, Joe Poulos '26 who spoke about his school experience. Dr. Richard F.X. Spagnuolo P'94, GP'23,'24,'25,'28 followed with a few words.
Grandparents and special friends were then treated to a musical performance by students Caleb Casiano '29, Karl Edouarzin '27, Luke Hiles '27, Rohan Ghatge '28, Finn Govender '28, led by Music Director Karl Grohmann. Head of School Brendan Sullivan P'25,'29 thanked the grandparents and special friends for their support and for being part of the St. Sebastian's community, mentioning how grateful he is for them. Everyone then headed to visit classes and the afternoon concluded with a dessert reception back in Ward Hall.
A special thank you to the grandparents and special friends who visited, the students and faculty who made them feel so welcome, and the mothers of the Guild of St. Irene, who worked tirelessly to make the entire day, from registration to dessert, run smoothly.
