Parents of the Class of 2025 gathered on Sunday, June 1, to celebrate their sons and kick-off Commencement week with the Senior Parent Dinner. The event began with a cocktail reception at the Class of 2013 Courtyard. The highlight of the evening was the dedication of the Class of 2025 Entrance Wall, completed on Friday, May 30, just in time for the reception! Father Arens blessed the wall followed by remarks from Senior Parent and Trustee, Tara Ciongoli P’25’25’27’29, who thanked senior parents for their generous support of the gift. She shared that “the project is not only beautiful in looks and material, it also represents appropriately the entrance to our beloved school for all those who enter or are merely passing by. Our Motto on the wall “Love God, Work Hard, and Take Good Care of One Another” proclaims to everyone who we are and what the School is all about.” Brendan Sullivan introduced and thanked architect Brendan Carey of Bohler Construction and contractor Joe Cataldo of Cataldo Construction for their outstanding work on the project. He also thanked the Senior Gift Committee members and invited everyone back to the Class of 2007 Terrace at the Head of School’s Griffith House for a buffet dinner.
Parents reveled in each other’s company while enjoying a delicious dinner. Brendan Sullivan welcomed everyone and shared how grateful he is for their unwavering support this past year. This is a very special class for Brendan as it’s his first graduation class as Head of School which includes his oldest son, Joseph. Much like he told the Class of 2025 at last week’s Alumni-Senior Breakfast, he encouraged everyone to savor their next week together. The evening was capped off when parents collected a specially framed photograph of their son and a commemorative Class of 2025 St. Sebastian’s hat. The parents of the Class of 2025 are now members of the Quinquennial Society, reserved for parents in their first five years following their sons’ graduation, and will be invited to a reception in January 2026 to continue to enjoy the relationships they made during their time at St. Sebastian’s.
