Ben Goffredo ’24 Takes on Shakespeare in Annual Competitions

Ben Goffredo '24 was deemed the winner of St. Sebastian’s annual Shakespeare Competition. This year’s event took place virtually on Thursday, January 28, with students performing a speech from one of the Bard’s plays to demonstrate their acting prowess and memorization skills. Ben represented the Arrows at the regional semifinals on Saturday, February 6, delivering another fine performance. After the competition, he took part in a discussion about students’ experiences performing Shakespeare. Ben was inspired to enter the competition because of his involvement in “Shakespeare Around Campus,” a student-organized theater project, led primarily by Alessandro Barbiellini '21, in which drama club members are directing and acting in various Shakespeare scenes ultimately to be presented as a Zoom performance.
