Arrows Participate in FIRST Robotics Massachusetts Qualifying Tournament

Members of the St. Sebastian’s School FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Robotics Teams traveled to Canton High School on Saturday, February 18th to compete in a FIRST Robotics Massachusetts Qualifying tournament against 18 other teams from the area.

Each of two Arrows teams (Team 133 and Team 19556) competed in six preliminary-round matches, including one match in which they were allies and another in which they were opponents!

Team 19556 battled both their opponents and themselves throughout the day, troubleshooting a slew of electronic setbacks, and finished in 13th place with a 2 – 4 record.

Team 133 fired on all cylinders all morning, finished the qualifying matches at a perfect 6 – 0, and achieved a 3rd place finish.  They then paired up with Team 20808, the Lexington Spartans, for the semifinals, ultimately losing in two close matches.  Team 133 also walked away at the end of the day as winners of the Innovate Award, recognized for their creative, effective system for gathering, transferring, and scoring cones.

The team would like to thank the Canton High School robotics teams for hosting a fun-filled day of intense competition!
