Arrows Donate Backpacks and Supplies to San Miguel Students
For more than a decade, St. Sebastian's has enjoyed a wonderful partnership with the San Miguel School of Providence, Rhode Island. San Miguel School is a Lasallian middle school for boys whose mission is to "break the cycle of poverty through education." This summer, the classes of 2022 and 2023 and their parents purchased school supplies and backpacks for the San Miguel students. Our boys gathered on the morning of Tuesday, September 3, and filled 64 backpacks with a variety of essential school supplies, such as binders, notebooks, folders, paper, pens, markers, glue and more. All of these items, including the backpacks, were donated by St. Sebastian's families to ease the financial hardship faced by our brothers at San Miguel.

In the afternoon, nineteen members of the classes of 2022 and 2023 traveled to San Miguel with Mr. Nerbonne, Mrs. Mary Beth Persons P'20 and Mrs. Amy Kane P'22 to deliver the 64 fully stocked backpacks. In addition to meeting the needs of the San Miguel boys, the Project expands the hearts and minds of our St. Sebastian's students as they strive to love God, work hard and take good care of one another. A very special word of thanks to Mrs. Persons for her exemplary and generous leadership of the Project over the past three years.
