On Sunday, November 5, 2023, 9 members of the St. Sebastian's Debate Team participated in the St. Paul's School Invitational Debate Tournament.

This was a Cross-Examination Prepared Tournament on the following topic:

"Be it resolved that municipalities in the United States should, as necessary, designate specific public lands for the settlement of the homeless."

Our students debated on either the affirmative or negative side of the resolution for three rounds in the Advanced and Novice Divisions.

Our Novice Team consisted of Ryan Healey '27 and Max Weber '27 arguing on the affirmative side, and Rohan Ghatge '28 and Luke Puglia '27 on the negative side. Gianluca Centola '24 served as a judge in the Novice Division.

Our Advanced Team consisted of Raif Boit '24 and Jonathan Demosthene '24 arguing on the affirmative side of the resolution, and George Addona '24 and Ben Goffredo '24 on the negative side.

Congratulations to Raif and Jonathan who earned 1st Place Advanced Affirmative Team honors.
