On November 23, St. Sebastian's faculty and students gathered to celebrate Unity Day. The purpose of this annual St. Sebastian’s tradition is to heighten our awareness of every person’s dignity and to strengthen the bonds that unite us so that all may grow in our capacity and resolve to know, to love, and to serve God and neighbor.
The Day started off in Ward Hall where St. Sebastian's community gathered to listen to guest speaker Christian Walkes, Associate Director of Education an Interpretation. Walkes gave a presentation about the Museum of African American History and African Meeting House during Unity Day on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. Students then broke off into small groups and gathered in classrooms throughout the School to have student-led discussion and to watch a film made by the museum called "Jubilee, Juneteenth, and the Thirteenth." A final closing ceremony was held in Ward Hall to end the day.
Thank you to Christian Walkes for sharing your time and your knowledge with our community.
