Arrows Awarded in Roxbury Latin School Invitational Debate Tournament

On Sunday, September 19, 2021, nine members of the St. Sebastian's Debate Team participated, by debating or serving as a judge, in the Roxbury Latin School Invitational Debate Tournament.

Competitors were required to participate in three rounds of Parliamentary Extemporaneous Debating in both the Novice and Advanced divisions. Our Novice Team consisted of Gianluca Centola '24, James Joyce '24, Ben Scemama '24 and Alex Yang '23; our Advanced Team featured Charlie DeMatteo '22, Jack Flynn '22, Eddie Ryan '23 and Maxwell Surprenant '22. Paul White '22 served as a judge in the Novice Division.

Congratulations to Jack Flynn '22 and Eddie Ryan '23 who compiled a perfect record of 3 wins and 0 losses and won a prize for Third Place Advanced Team competing in a division with 26 teams. Congratulations, as well, to our entire Novice and Advanced Team for winning a prize for Third Place School overall.
