23rd Annual Freshman Writing Night

23rd Annual Freshman Writing Night

Members of the Class of 2027 and their families gathered to celebrate the 23rd Annual Freshman Writing Night on Tuesday, May 7. Begun in 2002, the event marks the publication of "Freshman Voices," a collection of written work done in the Freshman Writing classes, and honors Jack Birmingham '59, P'84, GP'14,'17 former Board President and inspiration for the Writing Program at St. Sebastian's. Freshman Writing is taken in addition to the Freshman English class, giving the 9th graders an opportunity to grow as writers and thinkers. During the event, a representative from each section reads a sample from his work. Congratulations to this year's readers: Ethan Abdella, Gus Baer, Demetri Catrickes, Rowan Koppenheffer, Anthony Marcucci, Jack McRoskey, and Ben Stuart.

The John P. Birmingham Freshman Writing Award was presented to Ryan Connolly and Rowan Koppenheffer for their exceptional work.

Congratulations to all of the Arrows in the Freshman Writing classes!
