2025 Parents of Alumni Reception

2025 Parents of Alumni Reception

Arrows alumni parents returned to St. Sebastian’s on Thursday, April 24, to gather for the annual Parent of Alumni Reception in Martin Hall. The evening served a dual purpose this year, not only welcoming everyone back to campus, but honoring Meyer Chambers P’10,’14 as he completes his 38th and final year of exemplary service as Director of Music Ministry.

Lionelle Demosthene P’24 shared what a constant source of joy Meyer has brought to the community for nearly 4 decades. Not only has he shared his voice, but also his spirit, which has united and uplifted our community. The love he has for all of his students and the community is palpable. Meyer opened his poignant remarks singing verses from the beautiful gospel song “If I Can Help Somebody” by Alma Androzzo. He shared how grateful he and his wife, Beth, are for being a part of this community for most of his married life. His gratitude extended to all that the School has done for his sons, Sevie ’10 and Zach ‘14, and for the trust placed in him to mentor all of the Arrows he worked with over the years. Meyer concluded by singing the final verses of Androzzo’s song, a fitting positive message of hope and responsibility to always be a man of faith and love. Head of School Brendan Sullivan shared a sincere tribute to Meyer as well as an update on the purchase of the East Campus. The program concluded with Meyer behind the piano playing the St. Sebastian’s Alma Mater, an original piece that he wrote last year, and the full assembly singing along.

It was an incredibly special night filled with admiration, gratefulness and a love by all for the wonderful community that is St. Sebastian’s.
