2021 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

Congratulations to our St. Sebastian's students who were recognized for their work in the 2021 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards—the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative student artists and writers in grades 7–12!

Maxwell Surprenant '22 earned a "hat trick" in this year's awards, including: a Gold Key in Journalism for "The Youngest Marcher: A conversation with Cynthia Levinson and Vanessa Brantley-Newton; a Silver Key in Journalism for "Presidential Candidate Pete Buttigieg Rallies in New Hampshire"; and and Honorable Mention in Journalism for "Rather Outspoken: An inspirational conversation with journalist Dan Rather." To date, Max has achieved 19 Writing Awards including 2 National Medals and Best Teen Writing Award (2018).

Alex Maalouf '23 received five Honorable Mentions in Photography. The images he submitted were taken for assignments that focused on experimentations with light and water for his St. Sebastian's Digital Photography class.
