Ty Curry ’26 Named Dick Phelps NEPSAC Male Athlete of the Year

Ty Curry ’26 was named the Richard J. Phelps NEPSAC Male Athlete of the Year at the 40th annual Globe Foundation/Richard J. Phelps Scholar-Athlete Awards, held June 16 at Fenway Park. Curry earned the honor based on his exceptional performances and leadership as a captain of both the Arrows hockey and lacrosse teams.

A forward on the hockey team and an attackman in lacrosse, Curry helped lead the Arrows to the Independent School League hockey championship this winter and an appearance in the ISL Championship game in lacrosse this spring. He finished the lacrosse season with 94 points and earned ISL First Team All-League, All-NEPSAC, and US Lacrosse All-American honors. During hockey season, he was also recognized with St. Sebastian’s Jack Doherty Award.

Curry, who will play lacrosse at Notre Dame this fall, was one of four student-athletes recognized as an Athlete of the Year. The award is named for Richard J. Phelps, a former standout athlete at Phillips Academy Andover and Yale University, where he was teammates with President George H.W. Bush. Phelps, 97, attended the ceremony at Fenway Park.
