Seniors Celebrated at 2026 MPA Banquet

Seniors Celebrated at 2026 MPA Banquet

Family and friends of MPA gathered in Ward Hall to share in a wonderful meal and celebrate senior members at the annual Men with Positive Attitudes Banquet on Thursday, May 21. The evening began with a welcome from next year's MPA president, Abner Machuca Diaz ’27 and a musical performance by Karl Edouarzin '27, Lukas Hiles '27 and Caleb Casiano '29. Fr. Christopher Boyle said grace and everyone helped themselves to a delicious meal prepared by the kitchen staff.

After dinner, members of MPA paid tribute to this year’s officers: Cameron Steele ’26, MPA Social Media Manager; Abner Machuca Diaz ’27, MPA Events Coordinator; Carter Dedier ’26, MPA 2nd Vice President; Ben Osunsanya ’26, MPA 1st Vice President; and Wachira Njoroge ’26, MPA President. Each officer then delivered a personal reflection before a video introducing next year’s officers, produced by Andrew MacDougall ’27, was shown.

John Matthew Borders IV ’03, Senior Vice President of Partnerships at Boston Legacy FC, delivered a moving and motivating keynote address reflecting on his journey as an African American kid from the inner city to a life of purpose and leadership. Drawing on his experience at St. Sebastian’s, he shared how he found his voice here, learned to seek out opportunity, and discovered the confidence to lead with purpose. He encouraged Arrows to do the same as they shape their own paths forward.

Following dessert, Assistant Head of School Michael Nerbonne offered senior recognitions, and notes from each senior’s memory box were read aloud by fellow MPA members before the boxes were presented to the seniors. The evening concluded with remarks from Head of School Brendan Sullivan P’25,’29 and a welcome to new students from Max Weber ’27. Fr. Christopher Boyle then offered a traditional blessing for the seniors.

To close the evening, members of MPA gathered at the front of Ward Hall to sing “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing.” It was a special night for seniors, their families, underclassmen, and alumni who returned to campus for the celebration.

Thank you to faculty members and MPA moderators Trevor McLean, Jeff Riemann, Ryan Moore, and Arturo Adkins ’14; the MPA Parent Group; the staff; and everyone who helped make the event a success.

Congratulations to the senior members of MPA: Paolo Castro, Sean Collins, Sebastian Culleton, Carter Dedier, Alan Felix, David Hahm, Peter Keefe, Joe Koh, Carter Mays, Wachira Njoroge, Benjamin Osunsanya, Andrew Plotner, and Cameron Steele.
