Class of 2026 Celebrates 100 Days to Graduation

On Thursday, February 26, the Class of 2026 kicked off their countdown to Commencement with the annual “100 Days to Graduation” breakfast in Ward Hall. Dean of Students Matt Willey began the program with an address to the senior class. Mike Melley, Executive Director of Advancement, followed Willey’s remarks and highlighted the variety of alumni events hosted throughout the year and encouraged seniors to carry the School's mission with them beyond graduation. He went on to explain the role of a Class Agent and the importance of keeping the class connected to one another and to St. Sebastian’s, then invited students to vote on their Class Agents. Assistant Head of School Mike Nerbonne offered a prayer before students indulged in a delicious breakfast prepared by the dining staff.

At the end of breakfast, 2024 Class Agent Jack Mulka, a sophomore at Boston College, reflected on his St. Sebastian's experience and the strong academic foundation the school provided him heading into BC. Mulka encouraged seniors to be thankful and to savor their last 100 days on campus. Following their departure from 1191 Greendale Ave, Mulka underscored the importance of giving maximum effort in all endeavors, while continuing to embody the School’s mission well beyond Commencement Day.

Head of School Brendan Sullivan concluded the event with a message to the Class of 2026, centered around not counting the remaining 100 days, but rather making each day count. In the spring, the Class will continue a new tradition and enjoy a cookout hosted by Mr. Sullivan at the Griffith Head of School House.

Finally, the seniors received a t-shirt marking the day’s milestone with the words “Once In, Never Out, Arrows Forever” written on the back, which they were able to wear for the remainder of the school day.
