Annual Alumni-Senior Breakfast Honors Class of 2026

Annual Alumni-Senior Breakfast Honors Class of 2026

The Class of 2026 gathered on the Class of 2007 Terrace at the Head of School’s Griffith House on Thursday, May 28, to celebrate the annual Alumni-Senior Breakfast. The soon-to-be graduates were joined by St. Sebastian's alumni trustees, members of the Alumni Association Board, and alumni fathers. The morning was a fitting reflection of the family community at St. Sebastian's. The program opened with grace, delivered by Assistant Head of School Mike Nerbonne. Board of Trustees President Devin Condron ’92, P’29,’29,’31 addressed the seniors, highlighting that each young man has someone in his life to thank for being graced with the opportunity to attend St. Sebastian’s. Condron also recognized the alumni fathers of the Class of 2026: Gerry Collins ’90, Tom Cronin ’91, Peter Keefe ’99, and Patrick Martin ’99. Next, Alumni Association Board President Ryan Fitzpatrick ’92 introduced the Class of 2026 Class Agents: Andrew Donovan, David Greaney, and Quinn Mulvey before emphasizing that the brotherhood formed at St. Sebastian's extends well beyond graduation.

Mike Maguire ’91, P’22,’25 reflected on what St. Sebastian’s has meant to him over the years and why he remains deeply committed to the School’s success. He shared the story of his classmate, Kurt Steinkrauss ’91, P’19, whose actions embodied the ideals of the School’s Mission Statement: “The ideal St. Sebastian’s graduate will be a moral and just person, a gentleman of courage, honor, and wisdom, a life-long learner who continues to grow in his capacity to know, to love, and to serve God and neighbor.” After the death of their classmate, Paul Shea ’91, in 2014, Kurt brought their class together to support the Shea family during an incredibly difficult time.

Next, Head of School Brendan Sullivan offered remarks to the Class of 2026, affirming his confidence in the young men they have become and urging them to carry the values of the School after leaving Greendale Avenue. The seniors left the gathering with gifts depicting St. Sebastian’s-themed art from Museum of Leo’s Art (MOLA). This spring, 17 seniors partnered with MOLA as part of their Senior Service Projects, lending their time and energy to the organization. MOLA is a non-profit that gives individuals with an autism diagnosis, intellectual or developmental disability a haven to develop their artistic abilities and gather socially.

School Chaplain Fr. Boyle offered a closing prayer, calling on the seniors to continue on the faith journey they have begun at St. Sebastian’s as a source of strength in their lives beyond Greendale Avenue.
