A Day of Brotherhood with San Miguel Students

A Day of Brotherhood with San Miguel Students

On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, fifteen 5th grade students from the San Miguel School in Providence, RI, travelled to St. Sebastian’s to spend the day here on campus with many of their St. Sebastian’s brothers. They had lunch, played chess, and worked in the Innovation Lab, where each San Miguel student used the laser cutters to create a San Miguel Logo that was personalized with their name. The Innovation Lab gave them a taste of how exciting middle and high school will be, and they enjoyed the competitive chess games. Lunch was also a highlight where they enjoyed dining with St. Sebastian’s students and were excited to use the soft serve ice cream machine.

Juniors Duke Ciongoli, Nico Doglioli, Noah Meyers, Jack Stavaridis, Alex Wasynczuk, and Max Weber were the student leaders on this project. Special thanks to Mrs. Marie Carroll P’25,’28,’30, Mrs. Noel Stavaridis P’24,’25,’27, and Mrs. Kristen Weber P’27,’31 for their generous support of this initiative, to Mr. Matthew Burke for his creative activities in the Innovation Lab, and to Mr. Clifford Kurker for his support of some outdoor fitness and recreation time.

Freshman and Sophomore participants included Decker Bannish, Desmond Baugh, Connor Carroll, Griff Ciongoli, Bobby Ferguson, Peter Lipscomb, and Connor McDonald.

Eighth and Seventh Grade participants were Dempsey Bannish, Reed Carroll, James Estwanik, Bryce Henderson, Will Horan, Hunter Howarth, Chase McCabe, Johnny Poulos, James Perkin, Jon Rock, Christian Sidhom, Griffin Van Biert, Brooks Weber, and Tahj Williams.

The visit gave the San Miguel and St. Sebastian’s students a wonderful opportunity to spend more time together and get to know each other even better after our visit to San Miguel in December for the San Miguel Christmas Initiative. We look forward to more visits with the San Miguel School and continuing to grow our strong relationship.
