A Buzzer-Beater Alumni Lacrosse Game

A Buzzer-Beater Alumni Lacrosse Game

On Wednesday, May 20, alumni from the Classes of 1991 through 2025 returned to campus to compete against the St. Sebastian's varsity lacrosse team in this year's alumni versus varsity game. Despite battling blistering heat, players delivered the most closely contested matchup to date. Trailing 13-12 with one second on the clock, the varsity team scored a buzzer-beater to force overtime. In overtime, assistant coach Jimmy Freehill ’21 (Philadelphia Waterdogs Defenseman) scored the winner for alumni, resulting in a 14-13 final score.

Following the game, players caught up on the field before departing for dinner. The varsity team enjoyed food and beverages in the O’Hearn Room of the Elcock Art Center. Coaches and alumni headed to The Common Room for food and drinks, where alumni had the opportunity to meet Head Coach Silipo and Coaches Leary and Nardella, as well as catch up with Coach Pohlman. We hope to see you at the game next May!
