Thank you for your interest in St. Sebastian’s School Varsity Alpine Ski Team! The St. Sebastian’s Alpine Ski Team began in 1993-1994 season under the leadership and enthusiasm of Coach Fr. John Arens. The St. Sebastian’s Team competed in the Ski East League, founded by the Rynne Family. During this time, St. Sebastian’s won the title as the top Boys Team and had outstanding top finishes. In 2002-2003 Coach Deirdre Rynne was passed the torch and the team travelled extensively racing at Ragged Mountain on Saturdays and Blue Hills on Wednesdays. Arrows Skiing began to compete regularly in the Blue Hills Cup and Rynne Catholic High School Cup. The team conducted clinics at Killington and Stowe. Under the leadership of enthusiastic skiers such as Peter O’Neil ’03, Sean Deale ’05, Conor O’Neil ’06, and John Wolfe ’09, the Ski Team gained notable standing within the competitive Ski East League as a team. John Wolfe’ 09, Will Vietze ’11 and Nick Chappel ’11 consistently dominated the Boys Division earning rankings of Ski East All Stars in Giant Slalom, Slalom and Combined courses. Notable also are contributions of a growing Snowboard competition running Alpine style courses. Will Barnard ’12 earned rank as the top Ski East All Star Snowboarder.
