US Government

A senior elective course features the study of American government at the national, states, and local levels, examining the three branches of government and outlining their responsibilities. The Constitution is studied, with special attention given to the Supreme Court decisions that have shaped the nation into a strong federal system. Other topics include citizenship, civil rights, and the politics of American democracy. A ten-page research paper is required at the end of each semester. Additionally, all students prepare oral presentations on a designated Supreme Court case.
