Foundations in Art and Music
Studio Art introduces the fundamental working methods and various approaches to two- and three-dimensional forms. Periodic slide presentations and dialogs are designed to expand each student’s visual knowledge and experience, as well as to engage him in discussions about art’s social significance. Trips to local area museums allow art to be observed and experienced first-hand.
General Music combines several aspects of the study of music. The course focuses on basic foundation of music theory and ear training, as well as music history, music appreciation, musical ensembles, instruments, and the basic elements of music. Filmstrips, fieldtrips, critical listening, and discussion are all regular components of the curriculum.
