AP English Literature
This course is an intensive full-year study of literature intended to be the equivalent of a college-level English course. Students will engage in significant amounts of reading, writing, critical thinking, and discussion as they confront important works of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and drama. All students are required to take the Advanced Placement Literature and Composition exam in May. Works studied include: Hamlet, HenryIV, Part I, Shakespeare; Crime and Punishment, Dostoevsky; Invisible Man, Ellison; The Sound and the Fury, Faulkner; The Power and the Glory, Greene; Waiting for Godot, Beckett; Long Day’s Journey Into Night, O’Neill.
